PLN week 1.2

While the Denver Post blog, i came across an article called Local readers go for world record. This article started off by saying that Mayor John Hickenlooper is reading to kids in 1st grade, as the article continued they mentioned that Mayor John Hickenlooper is reading to these kids to "Jumpstart: Read for the Record".
What Matters:
This article matters because it shows that we are trying to improve literacy rates in the United States.
How it matters to me:
This matters to me because its nice to know that our education is getting better in the US. Even though it has always been good, but now a days it's getting to be superb.
How it matters to the world:
This really matters to the world because with students becoming smarter that means that the future world will become better. This is because if people are smarter then there will b more people to invent new things that could revolutionize the future world.

I really liked your presentation. You were really clear about how the article relates to you. I would suggest speaking up a bit, but other than that, you were really great. Good job!

Alex! Good job explaining the article. I agree because students in the US should have a high literacy rate, and then people will see them as "Kids of the future". But i think it could have been a little longer, and you could have related it to the world and yourself. But otherwise, good job!

I think you did a good job talking about what mattered in the article. Maybe next time you could make a little bit more eye contact instead of reading directly from your article, but all in all good job.

Alex, I like how you related the article to your own life and the world. You were very clear about what you thought of the article. On your next presentation, try to be a little more prepared and try not to read from your notes as much. Other than that I think you did a great job on your presentation.

You made good eye contact with your audience. Spoke clearly and fluently. You also did well in explaining the article and going into detail as you connected to the world. Maybe try connecting it to yourself and your classes today.

Alex, good job realting the article to the world around us. I think that you should have spoken a little louder, but otherwise you did good.

You paused a lot so maybe next time go over it one more time before you present. You made some really good points though.

Alex, you did well on summarizing your article and your connections to yourself. I think it could have flowed smoother, but you still did good.

I think the article you chose was interesting. You really knew what you were talking about. I agree that kids should learn should how to read earlier. These kids will be the smarter kids and probebly smarter than us. You spoke oud and clear and made eye contact.

If you have your notes, try not to look back and forth to the screen and your notes, just choose on. Good job though, your blog was well explained and it was good how you related it to yourself. Try to make it a little longer to.

You did a good job connecting to what you read. You were kind of mumbling, try not to look down and read off your paper. You also need more eye contact. Good Job.

Good job Alex, I agree- for children to become smarter, they must start learning at a young age.

Alex, you did a good job at getting your presentation ready for the class. You needed to speak up a little more because it was hard to hear you in the back of the class but besides that you kept eye contact with the audiance and I think you did very good.
